Toto produces the Washlets that are the Japanese toilets that are so well-known in Japan. These toilets have a bidet, heated seat and deodorizer, among other things.
Before the formation of Toto the group, its members performed sessions for Steely Dan, [3] Seals and Crofts,[4] Boz Scaggs and Sonny and Cher. The guitarist Steve Lukather was the band's leader.
About Toto
Toto was founded in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also acclaimed studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. The group took their name from the Latin word that means "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every style of music.
The third album from Toto, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However they came back with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two songs that were hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour make them a household name around the globe.
After a hiatus of a few years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in the year 1986. The album is a departure from the ballads that were featured on previous albums and includes some heavy rock. It was their first platinum album in North America.
In the course of recording the fifth album The group loses its manager and faces financial difficulties. They decide to change their name and create a new album with a new producer. Lead vocalist Fergie Frederiksen departs and is replaced by Joseph Williams, son of legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. Joseph is more natural as a frontman than Frederiksen and gives the band a needed boost.
The band releases Mindfields in 1999 and goes on a huge tour around the world. After several weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows. After a brief hiatus, Toto resumes their recording and release their first live album entitled Absolutely Live in 1993. This includes a cover version of Weezer's song Hash Pipe as a response to the band's performance in Africa on their recent tour. Toto's touring lineup includes drummer Lenny Castro and bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem Von Schroeck.

Toto is an American rock group that achieved their greatest success during the eighties. The band was created by session musicians with experience and has sold more than 40 million albums around the world.
The first album of the totos was the self-titled Toto which was released in 1978. It was a huge hit that brought the band to international fame. Since then, the group has released fourteen albums that have all been hits.

After Isolation Toto was released, the band went on a break. The break gave each member of the band the chance to explore their individual projects. In 1996, the group was reunited for a tour and album. It was the first time in more than a decade that all of the original band members were on stage.
The next year, Toto toured with Ringo Starr's All Starr Band. This was the last time that all of Toto's original members were together on stage at the same time. After that, the group was again disbanded. Toto returned for a benefit concert in 2010 to raise funds for the ALS Foundation. It was the first time in over 31 year that all Toto's original members performed together. The original group was joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.

Toto has remained one of the most loved rock groups for more than three decades, having scored megahits such as "Rosanna," "Hold The Line," and their 8X platinum smash, "Africa." The band's anthemic arena-rock is inspired by a variety of styles that include progressive rock, world rhythms, soul, and jazz.
Despite their fame the group had to face a number of challenges in their final years. In 2002 the drummer Greg Phillinganes left the group, and keyboardist David Paich took a leave of absence due to health reasons. Shem von Schröeck took over however the band was not the same without Paich or Phillinganes. In 2008, Toto decided to take the time off from touring due to changes to the lineup and a disappointing series of releases. The group returned to touring in 2012 after the release of the album 40 Trips Around The Sun.
The album was a return form for the band and the tour supported it with sold-out shows across North America and Europe. Toto's reunion was bolstered by the inclusion of guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist Shem von Schroeck, who both joined the group.
Toto's music is just the same today as it was in the 1970s and 1980s, gaining new fans with each new generation. Their success has made them an everlasting fixture in pop culture. Their live performances are always full of energy and excitement.
